CHANGE OF SERVICE PROVIDER

From 1st April 2022, Good Food Lewisham will no longer be managed by GCDA.

GCDA are proud to have managed and led the Good Food Lewisham Network since 2016. It has been a privilege working alongside so many partners and successfully apply for and obtaining the Bronze Sustainable Food Places Award.

But as with any network or programme, things evolve and grow.

We are delighted to be passing coordination of Good Food Lewisham over to Lewisham Local to bring together all the great work happening around food in Lewisham under the New Food Network Coordination and Support Service. We know that they will continue to build on the foundations laid over the last 6 years.

We will continue to support the Good Food Lewisham aims and objectives.

New Food Network Coordination and Support Service

From 1st April 2022 Lewisham Local will be running the Food Network Coordination and Support Service, commissioned by Lewisham Council's Public Health team. This is a new overall service but builds on existing Good Food Lewisham work (currently managed by GCDA) and the Covid Food Network, currently managed by Lewisham Local. The food network coordination and support service aims to:

· Build public awareness, active food citizenship and a local good food movement in the borough

· Tackle food poverty and diet related ill-health and increasing access to affordable healthy food

· Create a vibrant, prosperous and diverse sustainable food economy

· Revitalise local and sustainable food supply chains

· Reduce food waste

· Promote healthy, sustainable and independent food businesses to consumers

Lewisham Local looks forward to working with all the partners within the Good Food Partnership and building on the work achieved so far.
