In celebration of Lewisham's wonderful growing community and allotment culture,
We at Good Food Lewisham and Lewisham Local are happy to announce......
Open Garden Week 18th -24th August
A week-long celebration of nature, community, and giving back! Whether you're a seasoned green thumb or just garden-curious, join Lewisham’s community gardens during their volunteer sessions and discover the joy of growing together.
If you're one of the many residents on an allotment waiting list, why not get involved with a local community garden? It’s a fantastic way to learn, connect, and contribute—while you wait for your own plot!

⏰6-8pm Weekly evening volunteer session, come join in with this ever growing community of people that are transforming this great park.
📍 Wednesday, 20th August
Coco Collective ITAL Community Garden Black Gate, next to 71 Firhill Road, Bellingham SE6 3SE
⏰ 12:00 – 14:00 Come and visit a session where they will be celebrating the recent food growing classes. A lovely site with seating, compost toilet, summer house and greenhouses and veg plots.
Beckenham Park Community Garden Volunteers Garden Cottage, Beckenham Place Park, BR3 1UL
⏰ 10:00 – 13:00 Come and visit Mal will be in the garden maintaining the abundant veg and flower garden, all extra veg goes to the local food bank in Downham, The Downham Gleaning Pantry.
📍 Friday, 22nd August
Community Sensory Garden and Orchard Forster Memorial Park, Whitefoot Lane, BR1 5SD⏰ 10:15 – 12:00 A beautiful sensory award-winning garden. A pollinators delight with flowers and medicinal herbs and a newly planted fruit orchard.
Orchard Gardens Edible Garden Project Orchard Gardens Community Centre, SE13 7LQ
⏰ 10:00 – 13:00 Come and visit the new edible garden only started this year. Squash, tomatoes, wildflowers and herbs.
📍 Saturday, 23rd August
Bridge House Garden 61 Rollins Street,South Bermondsy, (At the end of Rollins St by the underpass) SE15 1EP
⏰ 11:00 – 13:00 Come along to a hands on session to learn and develop knowledge and skills in harvesting, making jam from the fruit from the garden to enjoy together. All welcome, suitable for all ages and abilities.

⏰ 11:00 – 13:00 Sundays volunteers session at The Weaver's Estate Allotment.
Come and see the the corn, squash and veg plot that has been filled with the skill of CoCo's dedicated volunteer team.
Grow Lewisham1 Southview Road, Lewisham/Bromley border, BR1 5RD
⏰ 13:00 – 16:00 come along and join in at the fabulous Plot, great views and and compost toilet, greenhouses, veg and a summer house for tea time. If you are interested in The Right to Grow Campaign connect to Grow Lewisham to learn more.

Free, friendly, and open to all ages. Tools and refreshments provided.
